Meet Mel Maloka
Mel takes a flexible and person-centred approach to therapy, adapting different frameworks to align with each participant’s unique needs and goals. She is committed to providing culturally sensitive, neuro-affirming, and trauma-informed care where necessary. Mel utilises a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused/Strength-Based Therapy, and Play Therapy.

Advocate for Neurodivergent and CALD communities
Mel’s experience primarily lies within the NDIS sector, where she has predominantly worked with young people and adults on the neurodivergent spectrum. As a member of both the neurodivergent community and a CALD background, Mel is deeply passionate about addressing and de-stigmatising mental health within these communities.
Mel treats a range of mental health concerns and has special interests in:
- Mood and anxiety disorders
- Adjustment difficulties, stress and situational distress
- Interpersonal difficulties and relationship issues
- Neurodivergence, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- CALD enmeshment family dynamics and other CALD-related mental health concerns
- Life Transitions, Social Anxiety, and Confidence and Self-esteem Issues
