Assessments

We can help with a variety of issues

Our mission is to deliver culturally sensitive, compassionate, evidence-based mental health services, supporting CALD communities and LGBTQIA+ individuals with a focus on identity, mental health, and neurodivergence.

Individual therapy

Gain insight into your challenges and their impact on well-being. Develop coping strategies for stress and emotional expression. Embrace change and build resilience for life’s ups and downs. Our approach is collaborative, tailored, and evidence-based, empowering you to lead your therapy journey

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and it’s natural to have concerns about uncertainty, vulnerability, or societal stigma. You might question whether treatment will truly make a difference. These feelings are completely valid, and we’re here to provide a safe, supportive space where your concerns are heard and respected.
Our evidence-based approach to therapy is designed to help you navigate challenges, build resilience, and improve your overall well-being.

By engaging in individual therapy, you may experience a variety of positive changes, including:

  • Greater emotional balance and regulation
  • Strengthened coping skills and stress management
  • A deeper understanding of yourself and your thoughts
  • Healthier and more meaningful relationships
  • Reduced anxiety and improved mental clarity
  • Increased confidence and self-esteem
  • Achievement of personal goals and growth
  • Enhanced resilience in facing life’s challenges
  • A more fulfilling and satisfying life

NDIS support

We offer neurodiversity-affirming capacity-building support for NDIS clients, specializing in both self-managed and plan-managed participants to help them achieve their plan goals.

We do not view individuals with Autism or ADHD as having ‘disorders’ or ‘deficiencies’ needing ‘treatment’ or ‘management.’ We recognize neurodivergence as a natural variation in human development.

Psychological assessment

At Centred Around You, we use psychological assessments to gain a deeper understanding of an individual’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioural functioning. These assessments can be self-referred based on current concerns or requested by doctors, schools, employers, government agencies, or solicitors

Psychological assessments are an invaluable tool for identifying underlying psychological issues and potential diagnoses, and informing treatment strategies. They also play a critical role in accessing support services, including funding under the NDIS. Our assessments are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, with a focus on providing clear, actionable recommendations.

Our supportive sessions help you address challenges, gain insight, and develop effective coping strategies for improved well-being and resilience.

Consultation

The assessment journey begins with an initial consultation to explore your background, personal history, and concerns, helping clarify the assessment’s purpose and next steps.

01

We conduct tailored, evidence-based assessments using interviews, observations, and testing, with sessions varying by complexity and referral goals.

02

Analysis

After completion, the psychologist interprets the results, provides a comprehensive report, and offers diagnoses and intervention recommendations, if applicable.
